Any plastic taste from the steam?** A: Yes, steam enters the glass bowl via plastic parts. I cannot detect any plastic taste in the food. So unless you have a very sensitive nose and tongue, you should have no problems. **Q: What is the water tank made of? Is it glass or plastic?** A: Plastic **Q: Why does it say glass steamer if it is plastic! with glass lead. this is so misleading. I don't want any plastic in my food. Is it glass?** A: The entire food container is glass. Glass dish and lid. The only part that is plastic is the container for the water. Nothing plastic touches the food. This is a great steamer and I use it all the time. The glass goes right in the dishwasher and the plastic part just air dries. ## Frequently Bought Together - Cuisinart STM-1000 Digital Cook Fresh Digital Glass Steamer, Stainless Steel - STEAMER COOKBOOK: 250 recipes for your steamer.
