The lovely designs of flowers, dragonflies and bees is whimsical and charming with gentle gold trim that finishes off the piece and gives it extra beauty and form. It comes in a sturdy blue box (that will remind you a bit of a Tiffany brand blue) with a pretty satin lining. I ordered this teapot twice, once for myself and once for a friend, and both times the item was carefully packed and sent quickly and securely. I think I get about six cups of tea from this, maybe a bit more. It's beautiful, but not ultra delicate, so you won't feel guilty about taking it out to use just for yourself. It is just as beautiful as pictured, although my teapot has no butterflies, but 4 delightful dragonflies and a ladybug. The cream colored background blends perfectly with the intricately detailed insects, leaves and flowers. Most of the painted designs even have little gold accents to match the gold trim on the edges of the pot. I like the way that they have continued the flowers under the curve of the teapot so that they are visible when tipping up the pot to pour the tea. Another nice feature is the notched lid that will not fall off when little ones (or Grandma!) pour tea. It is a delicate item, and not good for unsupervised use by small children. It is not a childish-looking design either, but would be just as well suited to use for an elegant grown-up tea service.
