Per the copy below the product "these durable mini plastic funnels." **Q: What type of plastic?** A: I don't know - not a plastic expert! It's just not glass or metal. **Q: Can these be boiled to sanitize them? How hot can they get?** A: I haven't tried to sanitize them - used only with room temp liquids. The spout neck and spout is large and limits use if trying to fill a small perfume bottle. **Q: Would not the top side be the 1 3/4" opening, and the bottom, (into the container), be the 1/4"??? Look at your Pics showing it use.** A: if that's how you're using it, sure. If you're setting the thing down on a table, you're gonna put the big side down. Semantics aside: Know that the 1/4" opening is actually 1/4" outside diameter, not 1/4" inside diameter. It should fit in a receptacle with a slightly larger than 1/4" opening, but I don't know what you'd put through it. Very small opening indeed. Had to dilute the paint a great deal and have patience for the transfer but the funnels totally works.
