It is nice and firm so does not squish down which was my concern. It is soft enough to feel cushioned but firm enough to hold its shape. Well made and nice material. I'm a fussy git and would have sent this back immediately if it was rubbish, its not.The only thing I would say is, for a man, perhaps order a second, as we like to spread our legs a little more. My feet sit on the outter edges, so I will order another, having 2 side by side, but obviously that's another 30 quid, so maybe I'll wait a month to justify it. Alternatively they could just make this products longer!!!The extra pad underneath wont be needed unless u have toddler sized legs and need to extend your seat up to the desk. I am 6 foot but still need to raise my chair to be at the correct ergo height for my desk/keyboard to make my legs/elbows bend at 90 degrees. If I use the extension pad underneath, my legs don't fit under my desk.
