These smaller Stanley metal coated plastic ones are durable. The tape itself holds up well compared to others. And this one has metric which is awesome. I highly recommend it. The main two problems with tape measures, in my opinion, are 1) the tape will rust and become hard to read and 2) if you pull the tape all the way to the end it will often break and never retract or retract poorly. This tape measure improves on both of those problems. If you're a professional craftsman or builder it is probably not wide enough to do longer distances as it is to floppy.
