While I've used the tool more than a dozen times, I've only used the holster twice. I've been splitting wood with a maul, and find with all the moving I do, it's kind of annoying having it on the holster banging around against my leg and occasionally falling off the holster. It's also inconvenient to have to unlatch my belt, feed it through the holster and back through the loops on my pants again. If the holster was able to quickly clip on over the belt, it would make it more practical to use for an hour of evening splitting. I haven't had my 3 point splitter attached to the tractor lately to try the holster with it yet, but plan to try it again when I get around to it. I suspect it'd be more practical with a splitter, which is how Log Ox markets it being used in their videos. But if there's a round of wood sitting close by (and there always is), just laying the tool on that and grabbing it again has been more enjoyable for me so far.
