Just be careful tapping in the insert. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you take off your brake hose, you need to have this on hand. *by C***K on June 26, 2014* Simple plumbing.I have a set of Shimano XT M775 brakes.I needed to internally route the cable inside a carbon frame, so I needed to take the hose off and push it thru the channel.The old olive is impossible to remove from the hose. And the hose can't fit thru the channel with the olive still on. So I had to cut the hose thereby removing the old olive and old insert.Same thing goes it you need to shorten the hose, the part you cut will likely be where the olive is cramped on the hose.The old olive is cramped in between the bolt and caliper and meant to be a one time use item because the ends deform to make a fit between the 2 ends.If you need to shorten the hose, there is no way to remove the olive without damaging it because it is made from soft copper.In other words, any time you remove the hose from the caliper, plan on needing to replace the olive.The insert may be reused is you can cut the old one out. There are other online reviews that say you need the mounting block to be able to push the insert into the cable. I was able to push it in by hand, but I still need to see if I am going to get a leak. Only time will tell. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great product *by C***G on June 18, 2013* Great product.
