Β Little backstory - I work full time from home and have a fully-functional office. After assembling and placing my desk and all my equipment where it needed to go, I realized that ALL of the plug ins on that side of the room are controlled by the lightswitch! That means if I want to shut off the light, my 3 computer monitors, ring light, speakers, alexa, TV, phone charger, webcam, microphone, AND MORE will not work. So each time I turn it off, it's a complete shutdown.I purchased this lightbulb as an addition to my Alexa and my life has changed. I taped my light switch in the ON position - and put the lightbulb in the fixture. NOW I can leave my work gear on - and control the lights separately! I bought it because I thought it would sound better than my 3rd gen dot, it did not. This 4th gen sounds like a cheap speaker, I found out after I purchased that they make a "premium sound" version that looks exactly the same. I feel duped, luckily I ordered another 3rd gen before they sold out on sale. I will replace this 4th gen with that 3rd gen. Also, it has trouble hearing commands. The unit comes with an ugly white cord even though the speaker is black, what is up with that Amazon? I would recommend either get a 3rd gen or buy the premium sound version.
