We double a formal living room (with a nice fold out couch) as a guest room right now and these work great to pull back or hold closed our curtains there to give privacy to guests. They do the job and are quite unobtrusive....do not clash with decor. The magnets are VERY strong... I physically have to pull hard to separate them.
