Binned off the landline and using a business grade EE SIM can get download connection speeds of up to 300mb at times depending on contention etc. Designed for outdoor use with POE, have mine located internally with clear line of sight through a window to the nearest mast. A novice may find the set up a little tricky and a separate AP is required for Wi-Fi - the inbuilt Wi-fi designed for set up purposes only. Disabling IP Passthrough will allow a specific IP range to be used on the internal LAN. Tested a few 4G units prior to purchase and this gave the best results once set up. However you also need a good and stable connection to a mobile phone signal for it to do its job. My normal broadband speed where I live is 23/6 Mps dl and ul. With this device I got free PAYG sim cards from each of the 4 mobile phone provides and tested each of them. All 4 worked after a fashion, but 3 UK, Vodafone and O2 were poor speeds because generally I am only getting 3G coverage and a weak signal too. Contrary to what their coverage maps say. EE was better and I did get speeds of 100/45 Mbs but not consistently so occasionally it would drop down to around 2/0.1 Mbs. So I had to return the device as it was made unreliable by the mobile phone network providers. Depending on your mobile signal where you live it might be worth giving it a go. **Q: What is the celular protocol for this item. does it work for tdd lte and fdd lte?** A: It works with 3G (HSPDA+), 4G, 4G+/A (LTE) on european network bands and should work in both tdd & fdd as required, according to the 3GPP UE Cat 12 nfo when in LTE carrier aggregation mode.
