I also painted it black so it can't really be seen but can definitely be heard!!! I have it hooked up to my cobra 29 lx cb radio that has a PA speaker outlet. You do need a mono plug to connect the speaker wires to so it will be accepted by the cb radio output. It is definitely loud and clear. Instead of having to buy noise makers, just download an app on your phone and play it through the mic. Great speaker at a great price...well worth it. Conveniently enough, water does not collect in it as I thought it would, and even after several heavy rainstorms and driving through a very real hurricane it works perfectly and does not seem muffled at all.
