Frankly, I don't remember why I ordered them to begin with (it may have been the 'deal' offered), but having done so, I understand how a soup spoon should be designed and i love them. I think it is one of those items that just enhances one's life in a little way and makes me smile because it so outweighed my expectation when I used them. I run a Vacation rental business and often have things in the apartments that will introduce a guest to something new - artisan preserves, coffee, etc. After using these spoons, I have ordered other sets to put in the rentals. Their style is simple enough that it easily goes with almost any table setting from very ornate to simple.
