In fact, there is more metal than plastic in these, unlike the other brands that have no metal except the return spring and the pivot pins. I have confidence that these will last years without breaking. Sure, they're a little more expensive than others, but far cheaper than the total I have spent on poorly made ones that break after 18 months. Not to mention hours of my life spent taking the doors apart to replace them. Installation was as easy as it could be...all interior door handles like this require you to pull the door liner out, but the fit was perfect and it looks great.
