My doctor specifically told me that too much is counterproductive—and he was talking about more than 6mg.** A: Everyone’s needs are different. 10 mg is the maximum dosage. Your night time routine and your exposure to blue light makes a huge difference with its effectiveness. If you take melatonin regularly your body will need more as time goes on. This pill would be so much more convenient in meeting individual needs if it were halved, and then you could opt for one or two pills per night as needed. For those needing 3 mg or less, before increasing, I’d add 100 mg L-Theanine, because it’s very effective as well. **Q: Specifically is the melatonin in this product derived from animals or is this of synthetic origin** A: Synthetic Origin **Q: Is this product kosher?** A: I would think so as it is marked suitable for vegans. BUT I use my pill cutter and cut them in half and then in half again so I only take a quarter of a pill.
