There are 2 prongs at the end that ensures that your mallow or hotdog stays in place and does not land in the fire. It has wooden handles on the end so you do not have to worry about little hands getting burnt from the hot metal as you would if you were using a metal coat hanger or a fork. Each stick also has a colored coated ring at the top of the handle, that way there is no confusion of who's is who's. That saves me a lot of frustration (my boys fight over everything). We now have a few different varieties of roasting sticks. However, these are now my go to for roasting marshmallows.
