It definitely does. Mixing almond milk, Stevia, vanilla extract, and Chatfield's carob powder, it makes an incredible sweet and delicious hot drink without any sugar added. When I first tried making a hot carob drink with this product I made the mistake of just mixing it with hot water. This was actually disgusting. The carob powder however becomes delicious with the addition of a creamy milk and sweeteners. I look forward to doing more with this powder. For example I've already successfully made some delicious gluten-free carob muffins. I also plan on adding some to my protein drinks. I don't like it. Sorry! But it seems to be a good quality product. It doesn't taste like chocolate. I didn't really expect it to. I expected a sweetness, as carob is supposed to be a bit sweet. But it has too much bitterness to notice. It is a burnt nutty taste. Think...the burned crusts of a marshmallow mixed with overtoasted hazlenuts. But no sweetness. There is perhaps a faint chocolateness to the aftertaste, but you'll have to hunt for it. It's not like chocolate, not like coffee. It's definitely its own thing. Good for if you like it, bad if you do not. Go into it with an open mind. That alone will be hard, because LOOKING at it, your mind will think milk tea, hot cocoa, or coffee...and will get none of that. You'll have to work and overcome that. I tried milk and sugar. I tried coffee creamer. None of it worked out for me. But I'm giving five stars because it's good for those that like it, I'm sure, and it is a good deal.
