UPDATED! Ultimate on & off road GPS!
UPDATE after 3 months use :I’m really sad to say that I wanted this gps to work as the concept was great! I love their website allowing to plan a trip but when I started planning a 2k miles trip, the website kept crashing and deleting my progression. As for the GPS itself, on a two day trip, the navigation app kept crashing on me stopping the track recording every time and loosing my progression. So for short trips it sure works fine but doesn’t like long trips. Magellan, the idea is great but you may have to upgrade the hardware if you want to keep this device part of your line up.I just got into adventure riding and needed a device that takes me from my home to the trail and still gives me navigation on the trails. I also needed a device that lists trails to discover. Well, let me tell you.... it does it all! Street navigation and off road navigation. I love the fact that you can connect it to your WiFi or you phone using hotspot. Because all you gotta do is head to the website TRXTrailhead and as soon as you add a trail to discover or a trip, it syncs it with your GPS. Very large screen and bright. Rugged and waterproof....(fell of my bike once at low speed and it’s like nothing happened). Now for the technical truth : this nothing but an Android tablet running a very outdated version (4.4.2). It is slow at a times. The advantage of being an Android is that you can also install other apps, like Google Maps, Waze or any speedometer app. The possibilities are infinite. So yes you are paying $400 for an old android tablet but guess what? No cheap android tablet is rugged and waterproof, the Magellan software is still boggy but yet amazing and they are issuing updates (last to date is April 2019). And no other device offers on and off road navigation. So there you have it. A tiny little overpriced but no other option available with all those features.Pretty happy with it overall!

Tract back
I liked the TRX7. Works well.Needs a stronger mount.Screen can be hard to see in daylight.

Not nearly worth it
This is awkward to use and is not pre-populated with useful trail information. Apparently the idea is that users will upload this kind of info, but there seems to be practically none of it populated for trails near Denver. I very much regret this purchase. It is useless to me.

Best on the market
I was not sure of this unit when I 1st started using it but after taking some time to learn all the options I think for the money you can't go wrong. Likes - Can mount almost anywhere, large touch screen display, can use tablet or APP and share history and trips between the two, large database of trails, satellite and 3D views. Wish list - seal the docking station release so rocks and dirt dont get in and jam up button, add GOPro app so I can control camera, ability to use touch screen with gloves on, allow app to run in background even with phone screen off, add feature to see where your friends are at on the trail that also are using TRX7.

This is an Android Tablet running Android version 4. ...
This is an Android Tablet running Android version 4.22 (Jelly Bean) which was released in 2012. 4.22 is no longer supported and cannot be upgraded. The 4.22 version also had many known "BUGS " or "Issues" that cannot be resolved because it is no longer supported by Android.

Great for trails
The trx7 worked great for us on our side by side for all the trails we were on in the last two months in Utah...using the navigational coordinates was easy too...the Magellan support staff is great too...have a TR5...but it was only good for one style of coordinates...the trx 7 can do all three...it's piece of mind also...the trx7 has more features then the TR5...the tr7 is well worth it and once the database of trails grows. Waypoints and features is one touch...it's great
