The wick doesn't bring the moisture upward fast enough; if I use it with the bottle upright, it will stop producing vapor very quickly. The problem seems to be worse the drier it is in the room. It works a little better if I tilt the bottle about 45 degrees by leaning it on something. Usually a 1/4- 1/3 cup of water is released into the air between me messing with it by refilling the bottle and flipping the wick upside down. The length of time it takes to automatically turn off varies, and I haven't been able to figure out how long it stays on or if it detects when no vapor is present.I've used it in a tiny space: inside my pet snake's tank to raise the humidity levels in a more constant and long-term way than using a spray bottle was.
