The Akaso Brave 8 I have records wonderful video above and below the waterline. Sadly, the performance of the integral mic is appalling. Sound playback on the camera is useless and even a quality TV and sound system only raised it to 'acceptable'. This little external mic from Akaso has changed all that. Still not great through the camera but recognisable but through TV and audio, great improvement.
