## Overview

The Semogue 1305 Boar Bristle Shave Brush features a 22mm knot and 55mm loft of 90% premium boar bristles, mounted on a painted beech wood handle. Renowned for its quick break-in, low shedding, and superior lathering ability—especially with hard soaps—this European-made brush blends vintage aesthetics with durable, high-quality craftsmanship favored by wet-shaving aficionados worldwide.

## Description

The Semogue 1305 has earned its reputation as one of the most beloved entry-to-mid-range shaving brushes in the wet-shaving world — praised across forums and review sites for its surprisingly soft IB (Imitation Badger) boar bristles, quick break-in, and superb lathering ability. Now updated with a moisture-resistant Resin and PLA handle replacing the traditional wood, the Hereditas 1305 keeps everything that made it iconic while becoming a brush built to last a lifetime.

## Features

- IB-grade bristles — boar performance with near-badger softness. The "IB" (Imitation Badger) designation means these bristles are among the softest in Semogue's boar lineup, with naturally split tips that feel gentle on the face from the very first shave. Wet shavers consistently describe them as softer than expected for boar hair.
- Faster break-in than typical boar brushes. Thanks to the Premium IB grade, the 1305 reaches its peak performance within just a handful of shaves. Bristles split and soften with use, improving both face feel and water retention over time — many users report it becoming their go-to daily brush almost immediately.
- Outstanding lather production. The fan-shaped 22mm knot is purpose-designed for generous soap loading and even, full-face coverage. Works brilliantly with both hard shaving soaps and soft creams, whether lathering in a bowl or directly on the face.
- Updated Resin & PLA handle — built to outlast wood. The classic green and ivory two-tone design is preserved, but the new Resin and PLA construction is fully moisture-resistant, won't warp or crack over years of use, and eliminates the paint-chip concerns associated with earlier painted wooden versions.
- Ideal for all experience levels. Beloved as a first-ever quality boar brush for newcomers to wet shaving, and equally respected by veterans as a reliable daily driver alongside more premium brushes in a rotation.
- Handcrafted in Portugal by Semogue, a family-run business making world-class shaving brushes since the 1950s — trusted by wet shavers across forums like Badger & Blade, Reddit's r/wicked_edge, and beyond.
