I wish I had found this when i was pregnant for babies first nail trimmings and hand and foot print. One review mentioned splinters every where he must have just had bad luck as no one else mentioned it and mine was nice a smooth. There are a couple wood splinters here and there where the tooth holes are drilled but can be picked off with tweezers or rubbed out with a piece of sand paper. Great quality. Hinges seem quite sturdy and strong and the wood is solid. The pictures don't do it justice for the cover it looks way better in person. I plan to sand paper out the lanugo and wood burn hair instead. I do wish it could be some what customized as baby girls and non circumcised boys don't have a lanugo to store in this space. I have looked at all the tooth boxes avaialable I love that this one lets you mark when they came out as well as holds their umbilical cord, foot and hand prints along with other firsts. Some of the other tooth boxes lacked space to mark the fall out date only a few had a place for babies photo and non of them offered all the prints. This is all in one.
