The porridge us good, I don't quite follow the instructions, I probably add a little more liquid and put it in the microwave for 2 minutes and it's hood for me. It isn't sweetened so if you're a traditionalist and want to add salt, knock yourself out! If you've hit a sweet tooth like me, the plainness of this porridge is its advantage. Add what you like.The oats and barley are chunky so you feel you're getting a substantial feed.
