Then, when I turned the water off, the switch continuity engaged and would not disengage. I installed the switch last week. Yesterday I saw that the light activated by a relay when the switch is closed was on for hours and hours. I checked it with the continuity setting on the meter and it was closed...it should only be on when the sump pump is running and that would be for a 4 minute duration. I looked in the pipe and the paddle was in the correct upstream parked position but the circuit was still showing closed. Not very happy for using it for a week. I will contact the manufacturer and see if they will send me a replacement, fingers crossed.
