It leave no trace, does not discolor the underlying surface and hold photos etc quite well. To use it you cut or break off a piece of the substance and work it to soften slightly and form a small ball of it. Use what you need to support your photo or whatever on a surface and use yuour thumb to press it on. That's it! To remove, just lift the item and remove the substance for REUSE. Yes, it is reusable. As I say, it leaves no trace on enamel or flat paint. It sticks to metal, plastic, glass, tile, just about anything. In the house we bought, old telephone outlet plates no longer stayed in the dry wall. There was just enough wall to accept the putty to allow the cover to attach to the putty and cover the hole. It’s soft when first applied, so I can place a little in the bottom corner of the frame, and using a level, make certain my frame is perfect before pressing the corner to secure the putty. Voila! Perfection! My daughter used to use it to hang posters in her dorm room in college, since students weren’t allowed to use nails. When removing the items, the mounting putty is easily removed without damaging the walls.
