I use a heat black paint (like you would repaint a BBQ grill) heat the receiver spray at least 6 coats heating slightly between the coats then let set a week. Saturate in Brake Free CLP let set for 1 month then you have a factory coat that resist scratches. I use this method for all AK-47 metal parts as well. Just remember to use Brake Parts Cleaner on the metal before painting to clean any oil even fingerprints off the bare metal. **Q: Can this be used to touch up black anodized aluminum? Will it harm the surrounding anodized areas?** A: Yes! I used this to touch up a black anodized Vortex riflescope. The results are the scope looks brand new! Make sure to clean surface thoroughly first. I used an alcohol swab, then dry wipe with paper towel, then paper towel with a bit of dawn to degrease, then dry paper towel. I then used a large cotton swab to apply. I held it on for 30 seconds at a time with one minute breaks in between, for no more than 5 total times per scuff. Stone washed purple knife scales and want to darken up the bare (silver) aluminum coming through.** A: I used this to try and touch up a bare spot on a mossberg 500 shotgun. It actually etched the bare areas, and stripped off part of the remaining bluing(black). BUT after contacting mossberg I was told that their allow, and finish is not compatable with aluminum black. A small drop of this stuff goes a long way, and the small bottle size improves longevity. An absolute essential for people with metal airsoft guns or real guns with aluminum components. I've only used 1/10 of the bottle, and even that was worth the full price in my book. It's easy to store and use as well. I used this to cover up blemishes on several airsoft GBB pistols and to hide completely the ugly white text on the side of my umarex hk45ct.
