I do not use my generator. Not sure 1HP pump is still being made that liiks like that... **Q: Is this a self priming pump? If I lose elecricithy and then, will the pump pull water and keep cool or will run dry, overheat and burn out?** A: This pump is not self priming. Nor is it auto auto turn on/off. If you leave it running dry it'll run and burn out. **Q: How many watts does it draw?** A: At full load using 10-12gauge wire from 25-50 ft. it pulls 16-20amps. **Q: Looking for a pump to use with my garden hose to water our garden. Not impressed. I was using it to pump water through 600 feet of black plastic tubing in an attempt at a solar heater for an above-ground pool.
