**Q: Can this be welded to a bar?**
A: I suppose it is possible? These black ones have a thin powder coating that would interfere with the welding process. The plane stainless steel ones would be a better choice. These thimbles are made from 304 Stainless steel. The only welding process I would use is “Tig” welding. You must know how to Tig weld or you can destroy it. “This is for information only and you must proceed at your own risk” Hope this helps!!!!!

**Q: how much weight can this handle?**
A: It mainly depends on the load-bearing capacity of the rope you use.

**Q: Is 12mm the inside or outside diameter of the tube?**
A: 12mm inner diameter

**Q: which size would work best for vinyl covered 5 mm  steel strand cable**
A: I found that buying one that is two mm bigger works best because the rope has a loose twist to it. Easier t to put it through the hole.i
