Is it a replacement for cooking up some fresh winter squash (in this instance, butternut squash)? No. Just as canned green beans aren't the same as from the garden green beans. But they have their purpose (and not a fair comparison). Is it good as a convenience item (and healthy item to add to other foods stuffs)? YES. It is better or same as frozen bricks? yes/maybe. Only one to be concerned over is tomatoes, and only if can appears breached. A little dent is fine, but better to use it sooner over later. But you do you. Overall, I prefer non dented cans and would easily down rate based on that.
