I’m weary over zipper closure luggage. I’m always just waiting for the zipper to fail or for the zippers’ webbing to rip. Maybe not the best on cobble stones, but this is a matter of physics that effect ALL wheels of this size. These always maneuver great in the many travels I’ve taken them on. The exterior holds up very well to the rigors of checked baggage too. It has a TSA approved three digit combination lock which is cool. It’s not going to deter a professional thief since anybody can get a TSA key. But it does prevent casual snoops and unintended opening of the case. The drawbacks are they do not expand, so what you see is what you get. You also trade some weight for sturdiness. The 21in is 9 lbs, whereas most comparably sized zippered polycarbonate cases are 7-7.5 lbs. for US domestic travel this isn’t a big deal, but it makes a difference for international travel where the weight restrictions are more limiting. It is one size. That means there is only one size with 30 inch. **Q: What's the difference between one size and 30''? But there is no standard for all flights to all countries. It's best to check your airline regulations which you can easily do online. **Q: Is there a key that's supposed to come with this suitcase? The one I ordered did not have one.** A: Yes -- there were two tiny keys, and I think they were tucked inside someplace. It's been awhile and I cannot recall where they were exactly, but they were not immediately visible. I want to say they were in on of the pockets. If you do not find them I wouldn't worry -- Amazon has been pretty awesome to deal with in my experiences. Just use the app on your phone to ask them to call you (I think it says you call them but it ends up being them calling you); have your order # handy and they will work it out, as is have you return it at no charge or something. My son used this suitcase for his study abroad -- he went all over the place and never had it locked once. I think he figured with all of the airport security they would get in it anyway. You could ask for a partial refund, like $15 so you can get TSA approved locks or something like that. My son LOVES this suitcase. The problem it is holds so much that if they actually weigh it, it could easily surpass the 50lb limit if it's packed to the max. We had it packed to the max and it weighed 65 lbs!! So we off loaded some items. What I'm getting at is, if you want to, return it and travel with two smaller bags due to weight limit of 50lbs per bag. Sorry for rambling!! They are sturdy and stylish. However, they have very little give. So, if you are an over-packer, you might have trouble with these. I bought them because they have a built-in combination lock and no zippers. I like the fact that you can't pop a zipper to get in. You would have to take a pry bar to get in. So far, the locks have held. They do tend to scratch some. But, the shell is sturdy and there have been no cracks. The four wheels take the weight off of your back and they roll easily. I have yet, however, to test drive them on cobblestones or a rough surface.
