I looked at reviews, checked out YouTube for anything I found "interesting" and eventually took a "gamble" on this one. Bosche seems to be the "standard" but out of my budget.I expected it to be a bit hit and miss but no! I measured a couple of dimensions with a steel tape measure (around 2m and 6m) and then compared the readings from this with those manual measurements.This unit gave a reading within 1mm of the dimension measured with the steel tape. It also gave consistent readings each time I pressed the read button, never varying by more than 1mm.The display is clear and easy to read, the controls are pretty self explanatory and the instructions are reasonable for such a low cost unit. Another nice touch is the ability to calibrate the unit, using the front panel buttons, just in case it drifts with age. I haven't used some of the more "advanced" features (volume, area, pythagoras etc) but see no reason why they should not work pefectly.The features are well above average at this price point.
