Ok so I ordered this particular product because of its vent clip shape. The vents in my car are a bit weird, they can point to the floor or even the roof if you so chose to do so. So my old mount didn't work. The vents would just start pointing to the floor and drop my phone. But with this vent mount and the way it is designed stops the vent from doing that. I am currently using the dashboard part though which is perfectly strong. I only used the suction cup and not the adhesive disk. The dashboard mount is great I like how I can easily rotate or move my phone around to different positions. You can just drop your phone right in. The suction cup works great.My main gripe is with the ball joint at the end of the mount arm. If you try to mount this on your windshield in the usual way, there is not enough articulation at the joint to face the holder towards the driver. It will be pointing the phone down at your lap. The only way to make it work is to extend the arm as far as it will reach and mount the suction cup as low on the windshield as possible. This brings the arm straight back, allowing the ball joint to angle the phone slightly upward.
