The MaxxHaul Threaded Hitch Locking Pin is to be used with the MaxxHaul Bike Rack to provide more stability and security. The threaded hitch design ensures that the Bike Rack stays in place and does not allow any movement during travels. Includes both locking head and hitch pin clip for an extra level of safety, so even if the locking head is lost, the hitch pin clip still allows it to stay in place. ## Questions & Answers

**Q: What is bolt diameter?**
A: Bolt thread is 5/8, not 1/2. It does not fit a 1/2 in threaded hitch. The 1/2 in diameter is only for the smooth portion of the pin but not the bolt/threaded part.

**Q: Do I need to purchase the locking pin?**
A: The Max Haul bike rack does not come with a locking pin.  So if you want a locking pin you will have to buy one.    But as a side note the bar that fits into your hitch has a large screw with pin that keeps it in your hitch. It does take a few minutes to screw it in or unscrew it.  That in itself may be a theft deterrent.

**Q: It looks like the entire length of the hitch pin is threaded but of two different thread sizes.  What is/are the thread size/sizes of the hitch pin?**
A: I need a hitch locking pin with a thread 1/2 X13

**Q: What diameter is this?**
A: 5/8 nice lock and secure.

These hitch pins don’t work with every hitch rack. Just thought I’d let people know that it does work with the the three racks that Young Electric currently sells. Actually I can only verify the SOLE model, which is their single bike carrier. The trick is that both the rack and pin have 16mmthreads with a 2mm pitch. Anyway it works good and is priced right. Does not come with a locking washer though and it is recommended to use one.
