There are a number of interesting names and facts you will recall in the book from Sitchin's other works. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Gilgamesh walks out of ancient Sumeria and into the present *by R***K on February 6, 2014* Zecharia Sitchin understands how to make the ancient tale of Gilgamesh and his partner Enkidu come alive. The old version of the tale lacked the living personalities of the times. It sounded flat and lacked motivation and cultural understanding. Sitchen's version reads like a Tom Clancy thriller with palace intrigue, mortal threats of the gods, and personal ambition attached. His version is far more understandable and readable than the original. I imagine only someone who had re-imagined the culture of ancient Sumeria after researching it for thirty years could give it the personal touches needed to make this tale come fully alive. It may be only my personal viewpoint, but I think there is more of a technology story here. Enkidu is clearly an artificial creature that needs more character development and the aircraft and communications technology used to track the two main characters should have more development. For these reasons I removed one star.6 However, I think that Sitchen's story suffers less from this problem than the Illiad does from not expanding on the android servents of Haesphestos, the lame God of the Greeks. Nor is his technology that can portray moving pictures on Achillies shield given as much personal expansion as Sitchen gives the personal life philosophy and belief system of Enkidu. Sitchen opens up the question as to whether Enkidu had a soul.
