Review: So far so Good, with this and earplugs blocks neighbor's loud Harley Davidson.... - I have some neighbors with motorcycles....A couple Harleys and some other motorcycle I'm not sure the brand....They start them up....and the instant they press the ignition and the motor starts there is from silence to this sudden loud THUNK which will spook anybody out of their sleep....Then they let the motorcycles idle which is loud in and of itself....And then they just rev rev rev rev.....For as long as 15 to 30 minutes....At the worst times....Early in the morning....really late at night....I have always had super sensitive hearing....And they roll their bikes just outside their garage and start them up....30 feet away is my bedroom window and the wall borders all 3 bedrooms so there is no escaping getting woken out of sleep....I have found some great and comfortable earplugs which I wear pretty much 24/7 because the sound of things such as cars and trucks driving down the road is just so loud to my ears....I wish they had earplugs that were stronger and block out everything....But apparently not....if a person wants complete silence apparently the only option is blast loud music until you go so deaf you need hearing aids to listen to someone talking to you across the table....Anyways....I needed more sound blocking than my really nice and comfortable earplugs because I'm getting blasted with like 120 decibels from these people and their Harleys....which jolts anybody out of deep sleep....I have tried a few of these over the ear muffs and these seem to do a pretty good job, the first pair was I think maybe unbranded....They worked good but soon my ears hurt because they didn't have enough room so the top and bottom of my ears would rub and get sore....I couldn't wear them very long plus they would catch some hair in the side parts that adjust the fit, I tried another brand something like pro for sho.... Or something like that....They work okay....But they were "Made low profile thin" like when somebody buys something to protect their hearing they are going to care about something like that....They worked okay, but before long they seemed to be blocking less and less sound....So I went looking for something else....I decided to try these....They seem to really be doing a good job so far.....Sure they are a tad bulky but I'm not looking for style points....I'm trying to get peace and quiet my hearing vs neighbors Harleys....These so far seem to be doing just what I need....They are also quite comfortable too....They don't make my ears or sides or top of my head sore...They seem to be blocking out noise just like I need if I am going to get sleep....The other brand soon started blocking less and less sound, unfortunately..... Hopefully these will last and won't also start losing sound blocking abilities.....I wonder about how it's listed as 37Db but then it also says it meats the standard max of 34Db.....So is it 37 or 34? It seems to say it's both, which is odd....But so far.....So good.....Peace and quiet even with the jerks next door who make tons of noise with their Harleys at all hours....I like the fact these are so far very comfortable to fit....Even to sleep in..... Hopefully these hold up well over time....At this point, I definitely recommend these, they are big, yes, but they block more sound because they create a good seal and they are comfortable to wear, even for sleep.
Review: Exceeded expectations! - True confession: I bought these because I’m scared of storms. We’ve recently been in an endless cycle of severe storms hammering the area with hail, horizontal rain, and damaging winds. One night we were pounded with a series of hail storms, so music was cranked up to drown out the sound of the hail. But during one of the storms, there was a roar of noise from the hail on the roof so intense that it drowned out the music. I never wanna hear a sound like that again, ever, so I decided to get some heavy-duty ear muffs, since we had another couple of weeks of crazy weather in the forecast. After spending too much time weeding through products and reviews, I finally chose these. They’re phenomenal!! They take the noise level WAY down, and they’re actually enjoyable to wear. They’re easy to adjust, even with arthritic hands, and so comfy that it’s easy to forget you’re wearing them. I’m finding all kinds of reasons to use them: the paper shredder with a super loud motor and teeth-gritting mechanical whine, middle of the night fart-can drivers, and the neighbor who uses their screaming leaf blower for everything—snow, leaves, grass clippings, scaring squirrels from nesting in the gutters…And yes, they work perfectly for hailstorms! A couple of nights ago we had a whopper of a round of hail, but as soon as that awful sound began, I took refuge in these amazing earmuffs. Instead of having a coronary, I was able to stay zen and chill and even fell asleep with the earmuffs on. I’ve used these at least a dozen times in the past several weeks and they have stayed feeling solidly built and very comfortable. The material where the earpieces contact your skin is totally non- irritating (for me) and of good quality. When they get sweaty it’s easy to wipe off or let dry by flipping the earpieces outward. They don’t feel sweaty when wearing them, though. Even though it was 80F when the last storm hit, I was surprised to see sweat on the earpieces when I removed them, because they never felt like any heat was building up, at all. Bear in mind that you will be able to hear things through these earmuffs—they don’t completely block all sound. Complete elimination of sound is not what they are designed for. But they decrease the sound level so significantly that you’ll be amazed. If you are using these through stormy weather, make sure you have a way to get tornado/flood warnings, like getting alerts sent to your phone and keeping your phone next to you on vibrate and ring. I could faintly hear the tornado sirens through the earmuffs, but a siren is a couple of blocks from my house and the wind direction was blowing the sound toward my house. I never thought I’d consider a pair of sound reducing ear muffs an essential for a bug-out bag, but I’ll be taking these next time the weather chases us out of our homes. I’d also highly recommend these for combat veterans with PTSD, especially during July 4th when the neighborhood pyros are keeping every living thing from having a normal life. Apologies for the novel, but one last thing: the colors are as vibrant as they look online. I have them in yellow and they’re a scrumptious color. Five stars for a rating isn’t enough—I’d give these 10. And much gratitude for the quality and usefulness of this product that has actually made life less stressful in certain situations.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Are these really 37 db? Saw another noise reduction headset that claimed it was one thing and the comments under it stated that it wasn't**
A: the description for these says 34-37dB in some places, then just 37 in others. The "37" is probably only at certain frequencies, whereas the average noise reduction across all frequencies could be anywhere between 34 and 37dB. NRR is a sneaky average rating that companies can report without saying much about the specific properties of the hearing protection.

**Q: Will these adjust to fit someone with a large head?**
A: They sell an extra large for those of us with massive pumpkins on top of our shoulders. Make sure you choose the Extra Large if you have a big head. I wear a 7 & 5/8 hat and the Extra Large fits me without issue. My wife's pink ones in large are tight. Hope that helps

**Q: Made in USA?**
A: American based, and veteran owned.

**Q: Considering these for woodworking with power tools. Would they fit comfortably over safety glasses?**
A: I use them strictly for woodworking. Mostly with my jointer and planer. Put your safety glasses on first then the ear muffs over them. Very comfortable fit.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My most effective set I have for hearing protection.
*by R***N on June 23, 2026*

Needed a new set for my zero turn mower. The drone of three blades was sounding like it was hitting a low frequency resonance in multiple hearing protection muffs. I open the box and was underwhelmed. Just another set that will have the same issue I thought. NOT SO, these soaked up the sound! No more low drone that goes on and on even with my Samsung ear buds set on noice cancelation. I have 4 other pairs ranging from cheep ones that came with my chainsaw to bluetooth upper end ones. None removed the LF drone of resonance but the Decibel Defense. I don't mind cutting grass now. Ear buds fit fine within the ear cups for music. Just the right amount of pressure on the side of the head, you can wear them for hours. I did the other day. Cut the grass and cut linbs down from a tree and cut them up for fire wood. Wore them for 6 hours and felt fine with nothing to comment on but zero headaches! One of the better purchases I've made.... no batteries!
