I've been knitting monsters for a while and I usually just make them up as I go. I'll kind of envision what I'm going for then wing it. Usually they come out a lot different then I imagine they will. Which can be sometimes frustrating and sometimes way better than I imagined. The thing that attracted me to this book is that it's essentially basic patterns for shapes. You can look at the pictures, find a shape you're looking for and knit it with out the trial and error stage. So, not only can you make all the adorable monsters on the cover, but if you like making random stuffed animals, consider this a reference. Also, I have come to find out that EVERYONE loves getting a stuffed monster.
