The item description as of today claims that they are 4.4 inches long, but they are exactly 1 3/4 inches long. I've been making dog leashes, and I thought it would be great to have these for the leashes, but they're way to small for anything but key chains. I'm going to keep them and see if I can't use them for something else, but really, the description is not correct. I'm posting a picture of a 3 1/4" lobster claw next to one of these teeny tiny things. She loves them. The clips are nice looking, and hold up well. The spring isn't as fluid as I would like, it sticks some and is somewhat finicky, but overall for the price these are pretty decent hooks, I haven't had any of them break, or had any color fade/flake off.
