So far I have had only three knives to sharpen but on all three knives the results were the same, very sharp. I do think that I like the 6000 grit side a bit more than the 1000 grit but with that said both sides do a wonderful job. I am still get used to this stone and will eventually figure it out better. The feedback I felt from both sides was really nice. By the third knife I could just about determine when I was getting a burr on the edge by how the feedback changed slightly. I feel that for the price of the Sagana stones you won't go wrong in purchasing.
