It isn't, but I can't say I expected it to be because others who bought the replacement lamp for their HC1600 shared similar reviews and I read those reviews before purchasing. If your projector is in a location where you have complete darkness you will notice the diminished brightness but the product is acceptable. For those of you who have windows in the room where the projector is, I would recommend NOT purchasing this product. Rated OK, rather than poor, because the price was great compared to the OEM bulb from Mitsubishi which is over $300.
