Review: Post back surgery customized support - I recently had back surgery and finding the goldilocks "just right" firmness for support has been a challenge, until this pillow. Where ever I'm sitting, whatever I need, it's customizable to my exact requirements. Sometimes it's fully inflated, but often I have it barely inflated, depending on the moment and chair. Portable to take in the car, restaurants, airplanes... I can adjust to my need and be much more comfortable where I am. This pillow makes my ability to GO places without as much pain the perfect companion for a full life. Highly recommend if you need a customizable pillow for varying situations. Review: fast light comfortable packable - This thing is incredible. The stiffness is adjustable so you can adapt the pillow to whatever weird seating situation you happen to be in. Comfortable enough to use as a head pillow. Big enough to tuck between your knees. Small enough to fit in a fanny pack once it's completely (very completely) deflated. The auto inflate feature is so good, it inflates very fast and packs down pretty small. About the size of a monster can. ## Features - Polyester - Pressure-mapped die-cut foam relieves spinal pressure while providing targeted lumbar support to improve posture and reduce fatigue during travel, commuting and long workdays - Open the valve for customized support. I find it to be a perfect size for its purpose. The 7x14 area fits right into your lumbar area. The 3" is the thickness when it's fully inflated, but you'll not doubt let some air out to suit your personal comfort level. I can't say enough good things about this pillow. I love mine. I actually left my first one of an airplane, never to be seen again, and immediately ordered a replacement, so as not to be without one. **Q: What is the size of the pillow inflated?** A: 18" by 9" by 2", including a 0.75" flat rim all around. You can get it a bit thicker than 2" by blowing air into it, or a bit (or a lot) thinner by not allowing it to fully inflate. **Q: is this self inflating** A: yes, but after a while, when the valve was screwed closed and pillow rolled up, it kept semi-self-inflating. Not a positive. I went to the Cocoon line and love them (e.g. Cocoon Air-Core Ultralight Lumbar Support Pillow) **Q: how quickly and how does it deflate?** A: Deflates quickly by using the valve in it. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Post back surgery customized support *by L***R on March 21, 2026* I recently had back surgery and finding the goldilocks "just right" firmness for support has been a challenge, until this pillow. I am still using this one every day. It is mostly my car seat back pillow, but I occasionally bring it out. It rolls up and deflates to fit in my purse when going to the movies or to church. I don’t have to blow in it to inflate it. I can just loosen the knob and it airs up itself. It’s still a great pillow. Fully inflated on its own and still very much useful and helps relieve my back pain. I would recommend this pillow to anyone with lower back pain and I’d buy it again if I ever need to. But I’ve had it for 3 years now and it’s still going strong. I've had this pillow for four months now and it's still working great. I use it daily since I have bulging discs in my lower back. I use it in the car and take it out, let the air out and roll it up to stick in my purse if I'm going somewhere where I need to sit for a while. It rolls up really small. It doesn't inflate too much on its own now when I loosen the cap to let the air in. Probably because I've used it so much that the foam inside has flattened some. But I just give it a few breaths of air in the opening and it's back to new. I really like how I can open the cap to let however much air out I need to when I'm using it. It can be softer or firmer to my liking. I'm glad I chose this one as opposed to a pillow that doesn't allow for this adjustment. Sometimes I just need more support if I'm in a chair that doesn't have lower back support. Sometimes I only need a little support if I'm in a tight space like my car seat. ## Frequently Bought Together - Therm-a-Rest Lumbar Travel Pillow - Therm-a-Rest Lite Seat Ultralight Inflatable Seat Cushion, Blue , 13 x 16 Inches --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.tn/products/2463930-lumbar-travel-pillow-self-inflating-lumbar-support-cushion-for-airplane](https://www.desertcart.tn/products/2463930-lumbar-travel-pillow-self-inflating-lumbar-support-cushion-for-airplane) --- *Product available on Desertcart Tunisia* *Store origin: TN* *Last updated: 2026-10-22*
