Fantastic if you are prepared to do the work and keep testing positions to get just right
Without an external arial with an older three 5g router that has both internal arial but also 4 holes for external arial, I was getting a signal of 100db (lower is better I have learned) and sometimes if lucky 98db for my three 5G sim when router placed on the windowsill upstairs resulting in downloads around 50-80mb and uploads of 5-10mbps. Ok for a while as was better than my crappy broadband at 15mbps down and 2 up as I’m living at the end of two exchanges so it’s far. Was good I guess without this aerial but was not great for 4k tv and also doing other uploads and stuff at same time considering all the Apple devices too. After using the 5g router alone for months, and then testing out this external arial, I can honestly say I understand why the mixed reviews. If placed badly it can actually be worse then an internal arial, BUT if placed well it can turn a good connection into an amazing one. Without the arial I was getting not great results sometimes getting 95 to to even 105 db so better then without ‘sometimes’ but also eventually after a couple of hours of placement playing I was getting it as low as 80db dependant on its position, but also its angle downwards and also, which side it faced and also when even on its side or upside down. Eventually I looked up on masts online, and I started pointing it towards the nearest 5G mast more or less correctly and then went higher and higher literally using a broomstick and sellotape wiggling it outside the window as high as I could and at every possible angle again and again. Eventually I was hitting a great signal as low as 78db and resulting in an amazing 500-600mbp download and 80-90mbps upload with no jitter and low ping of around 15ms compared to 30 pre arial. Bingo! My word though, even when going up on a ladder to eventually stick it on, even a 5 degree angle change on position and placing it on its side so it was sitting more towards horizontal then just vertical changed the db from 100db to 80db (changing the tested downloads by as much as between 100-600 mbps down per sec when on that ladder. Eventually we hit that 78dbs again and stuck it on so won’t move and the nailed the brackets down in that angle and place. So I must say, the product is very very good when it is hitting the mast correctly even on its side it can grab the signal and be laser focused, but it’s not dummy proof at all, takes loads of work figuring out the best place in a 3 story house 2 miles away from the mast with trees on route and a patient friend and a very high ladder to eventually nail it down on the roof at the best angle. It’s not as ‘omni directional’ as they say when the mast is not right by you, that’s for sure…Update.. For a year now since nailing it down on the side of the roof and it being in the same position, I am still getting 400-600mps consistently and always above 50mps up, weather and time of day dependant. Although occasionally Three drops it’s 5G service to do updates it’s never been better. I would recommend this external arial as a good solution if you have a high enough house, your 5g router has 4 holes in it for an external arial, which means it’s a 4v4 router so good for this 4v4 arial (not 2) and have lots of patience and enjoy testing and can sit your router 5 metres max from the arialPlease mark as helpful if I helped you so I can continue to write honest reviews. Thank you.

Excellent signal, patchy installation
This has made it possible for me to work from home, so it feels churlish finding fault with it.But it could be better, so here goes. The suction cups are IMPOSSIBLE to install the way the manual describes. You have to soak them in hot (ish) water to soften them and then push them into the bracket.I have to thread the cables through a window as I'm in a rental property and I can't go drilling holes in walls. What would have been really useful is it the antenna had connectors and I could then add the 5m cables by screwing in the SMA connectors to the antenna. The I could have bought some flat SMA cables to fit into the closed window and just used the extra cable to reach the router. As it is I have to keep the window slightly open the whole time.I'll probably just buy some connectors, a crimp, and a soldering iron and make up my own cables, but it's a faff I could have done without. But, I've gone from an inside 5G speed of 80Mbps (when I even get 5G) to a guaranteed 5G signal with a range of between 200-400Mbps when using this antenna. Being able to place this outside makes a huge difference. The mobile provider (Three) doesn't even state that my house should get 5G, and yet it always does now (using it with the Spitz router, btw).Very impressed.

Vast improvement over internal Aerial
Signed up to a THREE 5G Broadband Service (Zyxel 5103E), I was getting a reasonable 5G connection to my iphone in my converted loft, albeit a rubbish connection on the ground floor, so thought I'd take a punt. I put the router in the loft (near a window) and it was a bit hit and miss (50-200 Mb download, 15-50 up). But I had a TV aerial that looked like it was going to fall off the roof so I got an Aerial man in, he took the TV Aerial down and fixed this Poynting 4 x 4 to the side of my chimney (he had a 5g meter so knew the best direction to direct it to), and now I get (250- 400Mb download and 80-100mb upload), so a massive impovement !! My experience is the 5G signal is very up and down anyway on a normal day and it won't be everyone's bag to install the router effectively in the roofspace as it only has a 5mtr cable which you cannot really extend as it trashes the signal (I have a bedroom up there, so it's fine for me) and it won't be everyone's thing to install structured cabling in the House either, but I had already done this whilst refurbing my house, so I can bring that wired speed to everywhere in the house. So this Poynting Antenna definately does what it says on the tin, it just maybe a little restrictive as to where you can use it, but I guess this does depened on what signal you have to work with in the first place, I hope that this helps someone out.
