It has a very unique (and wonderful) flavor. I have used it as a sandwich spread, an addition in cooked sauces and an "on the side" condiment. I highly recommend it! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great flavor, mediocre value *by A***. on June 22, 2017* Very nice addition to stews, stir-frys, etc. Not quite as potent as you would hope for the price - you need to add quite a bit to alter the flavor profile of the dish, but the result is very good. ### ⭐ Tastes Terrible *by A***N on February 19, 2017* I was excited when I saw Umami Bomb and ordered it immediately. It seemed tailor-made for us; we love strong umami-rich flavors. We love and extensively use the individual ingredients of the paste. When it arrived, I first tried it in a cauliflower stew. It added a nasty, extremely unpleasant flavor that both of us hated. I had to fish out the cauliflower and add a can of tomatoes, wine, and garlic and cook that down before I was able to mask the Umami Bomb's nasty taste. The next time I proceeded more cautiously. I added a tiny amount to a sauce for fish. Again, it's flavor was very very unpleasant. I tried rubbing it on fish and I tried rubbing it on chicken; both were horrible. Finally, I tried putting it in hummus as the manufacturer recommends; it ruined the hummus. I gave up and threw the rest out.To put my remarks in context: I'm a professional food writer, recipe developer, and recipe tester. I tried so many different ways of using the Umami Bomb because I really really wanted to like it and write about it.
