Or it did until I had a fire recently and the rechargeable light part of it was in my house. I had it outside for probably 4-5 years, just bringing in the rechargeable light in the dead of winter. I never put it in a pool but it sat out in rain and snow for the entire time I have had it. Looks and works fine. No cracking. **Q: Do the LED lights change colors, or does this one only illuminate a white light?** A: Yes the lights on this change color. It's very nice. Only way to turn on and off is with a remote and you have to be fairly close to the light for the remote to turn it on. By the way. On is Red on the Remote, Green is Off. Chinese. There is a light is inside the plastic housing with a battery attached. The light/battery has to be taken out and charged with included charger. The battery lasts quite a while before you have to re charge. I don't have my light in the water. I just use it as an outside table. I've been very happy with it. **Q: Can this be used in an above ground or semi in ground pool?** A: Yes, I use it in an above ground pool which I sunk 18 inches. I would buy without the lights since the remote doesn't turn it on when underwater. **Q: When you close your inground pool could you leave them in the pool over winter** A: I would NOT. Seeing they’re made of plastic. Directions say to drain and dry before storing.
