I would be hesitant to actually hit it with a bat since its so expensive.Here are some of the drills I have him do. The extra weight helps him to focus on his mechanics because he has to go slower. It also builds strength and hand eye coordination:1. Hold the ball palm down. Drop the ball and catch it with your hand still facing palm down. Work to increase speed. Eventually I'll have him try and do a circle around the ball before catching.2. Palm facing up and toss straight up using forearm and wrist.3. Start with ball at belly button in throwing hand glove hand touching ball. Raise both arms up and out to form a "T" similar to getting into throwing position.4. Throw the ball to a partner.
