It doesn't look cheap The issue is the sensor for the automatic opening...it's way too sensible and opens up even if you are like 15 inches away... You just pass by walking in front of it and it opens the lid.. Maybe if you have a huge kitchen but for smaller places this can be annoying. Every time you pass by it opens and then closes...fyy it doesn't have an sensor that keeps the lid open while you are throwing away trash, it stays open for a set amount of time then closes which can be annoying.
