I am familiar with the adapters from a variety of manufacturers. The Hopkins adapter here is my favorite. What I like about it is the fact that the 4-pin connection coming out of the 7-pin plug has a wire coming out of it. The adapters with the 4-pin hard mounted into the adapter have always been problematic for me. When you have those, the trailer wiring puts strain on the 7-pin plug, pulling it down. Even with the locking tab holding the plug in, I've had contact broken as a result of the connector pulling down. With the wire hanging out, you have additional length, plus you have some strain-relief on your 7-pin plug. The quality of these is excellent and it fits neatly in the glove box or in the cargo area. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Like the pigtail *by S***S on Reviewed in the United States on December 3, 2015* I like this type of adapter for two reasons: 1) the pigtail adds a little length for those short trailer harnesses, 2) you can replace the pigtail end if it gets corroded or damaged. The plug is solid and reliable.
