Hopefully it helps users thinking about purchasing this product.Turmeric/curcumin is typically used for it's anti-inflammatory properties however it is also a potent anti-oxidant and can elevate mood due to it binding to vitamin D3 receptors. Curcumin, the main biologically active compound found within turmeric, is typically what most users end up purchasing since you can consume more of the so-called active compound via extract than you can with the powdered root itself. In the past, I purchased curcumin for it's anti-inflammatory effects since I have had a nagging back injury that doesn't want to stop bothering me. The product I used with a curcumin C3 extract with Bioperine (a slight MAOI, extracted from black pepper to increase bio-availability of curcumin). I have to say, that product did not really ever "do much" for me, even after taking it for a period of two months.Today, I tried this brand and was honestly shocked. I was not really expecting much from this product, seeing as it is: 1. from a manufacturer I have never heard of, and 2. it is mainly powdered turmeric root with a small amount of extract and NO bioperine to increase bioavailability. However, to my disbelief, I have felt great all day today. My back hasn't been bothering me nearly as much as it usually does, especially when standing (which I did for 4 hours). I also felt a slight mood boost (may be placebo, may not be... or it could be the weather finally getting nice) which was pleasant. People I talked to noted that I seemed especially happy today which took me off guard a little.All in all, this is a *surprisingly* good product. I was not expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. Keep in mind I have only taken this once - I may not get the same effects I got today in the future and if that is the case then I will update my review. The left capsule is the brand I have been taking for awhile, and the right is the this brand. I believe the left is a brighter color because it is mainly extract, while the right is mainly powdered root.
