It fits over it, but it's not the most snug fit I've seen. **Q: Is it decent quality? Should I just buy the stuff I need “nippers”** A: It's really good quality. I haven't used the other things yet though only because the nippers don't really leave marks on the model kit **Q: Does the spruce cutter have a spring to keep it open?** A: Yes they do.. but its mostly meant to cut parts loose ... cutting full sprue is better left to larger cutters IMHO, but they will do the job. **Q: Can I use this for model cars?** A: You should be able to use this kit on model cars.
