It never occurred to me that maybe the handle can be removed – in fact, I was in the middle of typing a response to you, saying that the handle can't be removed. Then I thought, what the heck, maybe it can. Blinking glad I went and checked. It's only because of your question that I learnt the handle is removable, so thank you. With the handle attached but lowered you need about 27 inches clearance, but with the handle removed you only need about 20 inches clearance.
