### ⭐⭐⭐ Firmware in a Chinese Dialect

Been using Asus routers for a decade now. Does not disappoint. Just a word of caution on this specific product from the seller: its the chinese version or the device sold in china. The branding and the writing on the box was in one of the chinese dialects. Unfortunately so was the firmware. Once you connect and open the setup page it is in Chinese. I had to use the camera function of google translate to set it up. I would suggest go through the basic setup quickly using the google translate camera function until you reach the actual homepage. On the top right corner of the page you can change the language to english at this point. Then go into admin settings and change the region from China to something more relevant to you. You will not reach the homepage to change language until you do the initial setup. Also there is a high chance that once you do a hard reset/ factory settings it might go back to chinese. I havent done this but not willing to experiment. I wish seller would advertise this and provide video or pictoral instructions to navigate. Then there is also the case of manufacturing-level spyware/ malware coz its the chinese version. Not sure whether to worry about this or not. Asus has really good routers but took 2 stars away for the seller not being forthcoming about the Chinese firmware.
