Its about 2 inches wider on the bottom, stands about 2 inches taller and it has pockets on the inside and outside whereas the other bag doesn't have inside pockets. **Q: What to do if it is damaged during transportation** A: Return it! **Q: does this actually measure 21" long across the bottom?** A: Yes, it does. Not too tall. Wider than other bags. I did my own research to compare this tool bag to the Tourmate Hard Case for DEWALT ATOMIC and the Khanka Hard Tool Case for Ryobi P519. I’m pleased with the dimensions, fabrication and materials used in the Makita Tool Bag. This bag has sturdy fabric, a strong zipper, and pockets inside and out. It would be nice if the inside pockets had some kind of elastic to hold their shape. My only complaint is the tool bag DID NOT come with a shoulder strap as reported in other reviews. Big issue!!!!! If I add more tools and accessories along with the reciprocating saw it would be nice to have a wide shoulder strap.
